Based on current research, half of all children diagnosed with Autism have wandered away or suddenly bolted away from their families out in public, or from their family home. Great Strides Rehabilitation will be offering a Safety Awareness Night where parents can hear from speakers from Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, St. Johns County Sherriff’s Office, Local Fire Departments, Wolfson’s Safe Kids Branch, Infant Self Rescue Instructors, as well as others to educate themselves on the available resources that can help keep their child safe. In addition to speakers Jon Edenfield M.S. OTR/L, owner of Great Strides Rehabilitation, will provide a review of some safety devices that may also be helpful to keep children safe. If you are interested in attending this event, please contact Samantha Peacock at (904)886-3228 to secure your spot. This is a free event, but space is limited. We look forward to seeing you there!
